The Situation
Roberts Lock & Key was an established locksmith business in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The business did quality work and had a solid reputation in the community — but their Google presence didn't reflect it. They were invisible in the local pack for most of their primary service keywords, and their Google Business Profile was incomplete and rarely updated.
In the locksmith industry in Albuquerque, the Google Map Pack controls the majority of inbound calls. A locksmith who doesn't appear in the top three results for "locksmith Albuquerque" or "car lockout Albuquerque" simply doesn't get those calls — the business goes to whoever does appear.
What We Did
The work focused on two primary areas: Google Business Profile optimization and local SEO.
Google Business Profile Optimization
We audited the existing GBP and found multiple issues: incorrect business categories, incomplete service listing, no regular posting, and very few photos relative to competitors. We corrected the categories, added all services with proper descriptions, implemented a weekly posting schedule, and built a photo system that kept the profile visually active.
We also built a review response system — ensuring every new Google review received a professional, timely response. This signals to Google that the business is active and engaged.
Local SEO
On the website side, we implemented proper local schema markup, optimized page titles and meta descriptions for local keywords, and created service-specific pages for the highest-value queries: car lockout, home lockout, rekeying, and commercial locksmith services in Albuquerque.
We also audited and corrected the business's NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across local citations — a foundational local ranking signal that's often overlooked.
The Results
Within 90 days, Roberts Lock & Key was appearing in the Map Pack for their primary keywords. Within six months, the business was receiving 400 inbound calls per month from Google — a volume that required them to expand their service capacity to handle the demand.
